WooHoo! It is reveal day forthe 3rd annual Challenge of Color.  I’mone of 80 jewelry artists participating this year.  Erin the challenge sponsor from Treasures-Found randomlyassigned me two uniquely different color palettes based on satellite images ofthe planet earth. My task was to select one of the images and  make something...a piece of jewelry, or anaccessory... inspired by the colors in the palette. Here are the two options I was sent:

From the two options Iselected the first palette Lake District for my jewelry design.  I lovethe vibrant colors and immediately thought of beads in my stash that would fitbeautifully into this color mix. I did a little research on this region inthe United Kingdom before getting started …..

For sheer scenic splendor,few places in England can measure up to the outlandishly beautiful LakeDistrict, where poets Wordsworth, Coleridge and their Romantic compatriots foundtheir inspiration in the 19th century. The landscape of the Lakes is breathtaking,a sweeping panorama of humpbacked mountains, razor blade crags and rock coveredhillsides. The area is sprinkled with rock-strewn ponds and some of the largestnatural lakes anywhere in England. With such a wealth ofnatural riches, it’s hardly surprising that the Lake District is one of thecountry’s favorite places for savoring the great outdoors. But there’s muchmore to this region than fine views – it’s also packed with history andculture, from the abandoned slate mines around Honister and the ruined abbey ofFurness to the literary landmarks of Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount, both formerhomes of William Wordsworth. What better place to inspire my creativity.

And here is my creation for this challenge:  
 I'm Sorry for the late post,  I had unplanned outpatient surgery today. I Will try to get my pictures up tomorrow afternoon. I have great pain medication! Cheers!
